Bourgade Catholic Athletics

The Athletic programs at Bourgade Catholic provide opportunities for student-athletes to participate fully in the high school athletic experience.  Our student-athletes learn sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and leadership.  Many athletes from Bourgade Catholic are recognized each year by the AIA as scholar-athletes for their outstanding academic achievements while participating in athletics.  Bourgade Catholic is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA), participates in the AIA Pursuing Victory with Honor initiative and competes in the 2A West Region.

Recent Honors include:
                                               

                                               2008 Wrestling 1A-2A Individual State Champion--Arnold Coronado
                                               2008 and 2009  Softball Team 2A West League Champion
                                               2008 and 2009 Baseball Team 2A West League Champions
                                               2008 Baseball Team 2A Conference State Runner Up
                                               2009 Baseball Team 2A Final Four Appearance
                                               2010 Baseball Team 2A State Champion

Baseball Team Wins State Championship

The Golden Eagle Baseball team defeated Camp Verde 6-5 on Saturday night to win the State Championship.  With the tying run on third base, Senior Eric Martinez fittingly brought his career at Bourgade Catholic to an end by striking out the final batter of the game.  This year marked the baseball team's third consecutive appearance in the State Final Four, and the first State Championship since 1988.  Congratulations to all the players and coaches for a tremendous season!!
