Financial Aid Information

Programs funded by the Arizona State Tax Credit

The State of Arizona offers taxpayers a credit for contributions made to qualifying
private school scholarship organizations. This is a unique program allows our students
several opportunities for financial assistance.

Each of these scholarships requires that a 2012 tax return copy be included with the application.
FILE YOUR TAXES EARLY (JANUARY OR FEBRUARY)!!

Please apply for all of the programs your family qualifies for.

Catholic Education Arizona

This is a program initiated by the State of Arizona tuition tax credit. Available funds are awarded based on financial need. Please encourage family, friends and business associates to contribute to this fund as it only supports Catholic Schools.

The Catholic Education Arizona Scholarship Application must be made annually and must be filed online by the April 15, 2013 deadline. Late applications may not receive an award.

Apply online at www.fairapp.com. Use the school code 700 and password cea700 (case sensitive). Don’t forget to mail your tax and income documentation.

If you are unable to apply online, printed applications are available at the school office.

Other Tax Credit Scholarship Funds
Donors to these funds can recommend that their Arizona State tax credit dollars be redirected toward your student. Many Bourgade Catholic families find donors through family members, business associates and friends. 100% of the tuition cost is eligible for this scholarship. A parent cannot contribute for the benefit of their own child. Each student must be registered with the fund through an application process.

Institute for Better Education

If you would like to solicit and apply for funds through the Arizona State tax credit program recommended to your student, you must apply each year! 2013-14 Applications are available.

If your student attended Public or Charter school prior to attending Bourgade Catholic and you meet the income guidelines listed on the application, apply for the Corporate Scholarship (attach link to corporate application). You may apply for the Individual, plus the Corporate Scholarship if you meet the requirements! The IBE applications can be found by visiting the links below. Arizona Scholarship Fund

90% of the donation is forwarded to Bourgade Catholic in the student’s name to be applied to tuition cost. 10% is retained by the fund to cover administrative costs.

Distributions are made monthly.

Arizona Private Education Scholarship Fund

* This fund also offers scholarships based on need. Bourgade Catholic students received awards of
   $500-$1000.
* There is an ONLINE APPLICATION available to complete. Scholarships are distributed in
   July and February. Please check the website for application deadlines.
* They distribute recommended funds three times each year.
* Applications are available by visiting the Arizona Private Education Scholarship Fund website

TOPS for Kids

Individual , Corporate and Plus application are currently being accepted at www.topsforkids.com

Arizona School Choice Trust

Available funds are awarded based on financial need. Preference is given to students who attended public or charter school prior to attending private school. The scholarship is renewable annually until graduation but reapplication is required each year. Awards are given based on income guidelines.

Application process is closed for 2013/14.

AAA Scholarship Foundation

AAA Scholarship Foundation is still accepting applications and have funds available for 2013/14 scholarships. There are some specific requirements but you may want to apply if you haven’t already!

If you have already applied—here is some very important information!

Award date should be 4-6 weeks after application is complete.

- Make sure to check status online. If AAA is waiting for information, get it to them asap. Until your application is complete, no award will be made!
- Once status is “Complete”, award process will begin.
- Awards are made by letter in mail not through the website. Watch your mailbox!
- Once letter is received by parent, School Commitment Form should be completed by school and mailed back by parent along with other paperwork.
- Scholarship check will be issued to parent and BCHS. It will be mailed to the parent. Please be sure to bring in the check to the Finance Office once received.

Fr. Joseph N. Patterson Foundation Scholarship

Application is now available for the 2013/2014 school year.

Some important guidelines:
    * All items listed on the checklist (cover page) must be included or the application will be considered
       incomplete.
    * Student must write (or type) their own cover letter.
    * Student must provide a seperate list of extracurricular activities.
    * A social security is required to receive a scholarship. If the student is not a U.S. citizen, evidence of a
       work or student visa is needed.
    * Please do not send tax returns (unless requested after the application is reviewed).
    * Applications must be postmarked NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT, JUNE 7, 2013 OR THEY WILL
       NOT BE ACCEPTED.
    * Start early gathering the information you need, especially when requesting letters of recommendation as
       they are very hard to get from teachers, etc. after school is out for the summer.
