Bourgade Catholic Sophomores, Ashley Pierce and Hunter Jones, were selected from numerous applications by the Phoenix West Rotary Club to attend Camp Pinerock in Prescott for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) seminar.   RYLA training seminars aim to provide effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders, encourage leadership of youth by youth and recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities.  

Ashley is involved in volleyball, drama and Tech Club on campus.  She really enjoyed the zipline at Camp Pinerock, but also meeting exchange students from France, Brazil, Argentina, Poland and Japan.   Ashley's take away from the weekend was to be "leader in life".

Hunter is active on the Blood Drive Team and Student Ambassadors at BCHS.     It snowed during his time north and he tossed a few snowballs at his new friends.   The activities on trust resonated with Hunter, along with the concept of Pay it Forward.

Beginning in August 2012 Bourgade Catholic will formally welcome students from across the globe to our campus through our International Student Program.   

We invite families to welcome an international brother or sister who wants to study at Bourgade Catholic High School beginning in the 2012-2013 academic year into their home and family.   This opportunity will provide a unique experience for both your family and your international brother and sister as you share cultures, ideas and perspectives building a lifelong relationship.

BCHS Young Alums (members of the Class of 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008) made a return to campus on Thursday, January 5th.    It was an opportunity for these alumni to catch up with each other and their former teachers.   

The Young Alums also looked over the Hillmann Center remodel drawings and are excited to return for the grand opening in the fall.
