Dedication Game for Fernando Sepulveda on Saturday, April 22nd
Each year, the varsity softball program dedicates a regular season game to a cause and raises money to donate to a credible organization. In the past, we have raised money for the National Breast Cancer association and over the last two seasons, they have raised money for Goal4theGoal, Lacing up with Pediatric Cancer. This year, they are focused on supporting one of our own, Fernando Sepulveda. Fernando is a member of the Class of 2017; in the fall of 2016, he was diagnosed with bone cancer and has been battling to regain his health. He has undergone two surgeries and various rounds of treatment; Fernando spends his time in and out of the hospital surrounded by his family members and friends. While the entire family remains positive; the strain of this illness is great, and we want to find ways to help as much as possible. The varsity softball program is reaching out to the Bourgade Catholic community with an invitation to join in their support of the Sepulveda family.
The Golden Eagles will take on Willcox High School on Saturday, April 22nd at BCHS at 10:30 AM. All members of our community are encouraged to attend as the game will be dedicated to Fernando and his family. In our effort to raise awareness of all forms of pediatric cancers, the varsity softball team will be wearing yellow shirts with "SEPULVEDA" on the back. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear gold or yellow in support of Fernando and the Golden Eagles softball program.
Pizza, donated by Pizza Mia, will be sold for $1/slice, and other refreshments will also be available for sale; all proceeds will go directly to the family. The softball program will also be collecting donations for the family on game day. If you cannot attend the game but would like to make donation, you may contact Susan Chavarria at firstname.lastname@example.org, to make arrangements.
