Mario Jimerson, Head Track & Field Coach
Mario Jimerson is in his 2nd year as the Head Track & Field Coach at Bourgade Catholic. Coach Jimerson has been involved in track and field as an athlete or coach for most of his Life. Jimerson began competing at the age of 9 and continued his track and field career through college, where he was a 4 year letterman and team captain. During his college days, Coach Jimerson competed at Glendale Community College and Jackson State University. He started his coaching career at the age of 19. He is currently a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach a Certified USATF Official.
LaMar James Hudson is in his first year at Bourgade Catholic High School and is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. Coach Hudson started running track at the age of 8 years old , starting out with the Jesse Owens Track Club. While attending Maryvale High School, Coach Hudson participated in the 100 meter, 200 meter, 4x100 meter, and the 4x400 meter events. By his senior year in 1992, Hudson had recorded many milestones including record-breaking times in his sprinting events. One of Coach Hudson's greatest achievements includes being a part of the only team in the state of Arizona to win a State Championship with only five men on their track and field team. They also broke a seven-year-old 4x100 meter record with a time of 41.33, which had held up for 16 years in the state of Arizona. Hudson began his coaching career 8 years ago as a speed coach and personal trainer. Coach Hudson also runs his own track club called City West Flyers; the club suits children, ages 4-14. Hudson has aspirations to become one of the elite coaches at the high school level in Arizona.
Reid Axman is in his first year coaching track and field at Bourgade Catholic. He started coaching track and cross country in 2007 at the middle school level. After two years, Coach Axman moved up to the high school level where he has been coaching for the last eight years. He participated in track and cross country through middle and high school in the state of Washington. Coach Axman has been running and racing for over 15 years, covering distances from the mile to the marathon.
