Melinda Espinoza, Head Varsity Coach
Melinda Espinoza is in her 8th year at Bourgade Catholic as the Head Volleyball Coach and this is her 18th season coaching high school volleyball. Before arriving at Bourgade Catholic, she coached at St. Mary's and Central High School. She also has been involved in club volleyball for 6 years, coaching ages from 12 - 18. Melinda is from Michigan and has established Phoenix as her home since attending Arizona State University.
Melinda has recently joined the Bourgade Catholic faculty/staff as both an Assistant Athletic Director as well as a math teacher. Melinda currently has two children, Mikayla and Matthew, attending BCHS. Her youngest two children attend St. Gregory's Catholic Grade School.
Monique Russell, Assistant Varsity Coach and Head Freshman Coach
Monique Russell is in her fourth year as a Bourgade Catholic coach, at both the Freshman & Varsity levels. As an Arizona native, graduating from St. Mary’s High School, and a 4-year letterman, she was awarded to the All-Freshman Team in 2005, the 2nd Team All-Region in 2007, and 1st Team All-Region in 2008. After graduating, Monique ventured across the country to Florida on a Division-I Volleyball scholarship to Stetson University, playing in every match since Freshman year. She was the record holder for season digs, careers digs, and record high for aces in 2012. Monique returned to her hometown after graduating with a BA in Psychology. Since 2013, she has coached club volleyball for various age groups during Bourgade Catholic's off-season.
Felicity France, Head JV Coach
Felicity France is an alumnus of Bourgade Catholic High School, Class of 2014. She returns to BCHS as head coach of the JV volleyball team. While at Bourgade Catholic, she was a four-year varsity volleyball letter, in addition to lettering in track and tennis. Throughout her four years, she earned defensive player awards 3 years running, All-Section Second Team in 2013, and the Christian Athlete of the Year award in 2014. She participated in a variety of clubs during her time at BCHS including Ambassadors, Core, Athletic Leadership Team, and the National Honor Society. Felicity played club ball for 5 years until graduating her senior year. During her club career, she had experience coaching various camps and helping out younger teams. She is now studying at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington earning a BA in Health Sciences in pursuit of becoming a PA.
