Retreats and Mission OpportunitiesBCHS Campus Ministry exists to fulfill the Bourgade Catholic mission to educate hearts and minds of students in the Catholic tradition as well as to become servant leaders and stewards of the Gospel. To do this, we provide a rich variety of experiences designed to help individuals encounter Jesus Christ, to serve as disciples and to discern vocation.
Retreat OpportunitiesClass Day of Prayer
Each grade has an annual Class Day of Prayer, off campus, at various churches across the Diocese of Phoenix. During these days of prayer students reflect on feeding the hungry and how we can do our part. Kairos
The Kairos retreat, a popular Catholic High School retreat following the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, is offered for Juniors and Seniors. Kairos is a 4 day, over-night, off campus. Select Sophomores who apply and are accepted are able to participate. Steubenville West Conference
The Franciscian University of Steubenville offers youth conferences each summer around the country. Students from Bourgade Catholic attend Steubenville West in Tucson each July. This retreat is open to all BCHS students, including those who have graduated the previous May and incoming Freshmen. Service OpportunitiesSpring Break Mission
Each year, students, faculty and parents choose to spend their spring break serving by building homes for those living in drastic poverty with AMOR Ministries. Destinations have included Rocky Point, Mexico and the San Carlos Apache Reservation, Arizona. No running water, no electricity, no cell phones, no fast food, no comfortable beds…no problem! Mission Trip is a much loved tradition at Bourgade Catholic that helps students see the joy of simplicity, service and community. Introducing: Mini-Mission
Beginning Spring 2015, we will be expanding our Mission program to include a 3 day, 2 night mini-mission to serve at Camp Tepeyac Catholic Retreat Camp in Prescott, Arizona! Andre House Campus Ministry organizes multiple Andre House service nights each semester. Andre House, located in downtown Phoenix, offers free hot meals to those in need. Students assist in preparing, serving and cleaning up after dinner
Leadership OpportunitiesCORE Team
A team of Juniors & Seniors serve as student leaders in Campus Ministry. Core Team members are responsible for leading each Class Day of Prayer, Kairos Retreats, All-School Morning Prayer and other Campus Ministry events throughout the year. Core Team members attend formation and training retreats and meetings throughout the year. |
